Keeping a journal can actually help you manage your goals.Most people have a lot of goals to accomplish with no idea of how to accomplish them or even where to start. Do you ever feel like there is never enough time in the day to accomplish what you want to accomplish? Do you ever have all these plans of doing certain things but feel so demotivated that you procrastinate until you don’t follow through with these plans? Do you have all these great ideas for goals but feel to overwhelmed you defeat yourself? If your answer is yes then creating a goal journal will help you.

Its important to make time for things that are important in your life if you want to accomplish your goals and maintain a healthy life balance. Using time to focus on yourself from time to time is important for self care.

Sometimes life throws to much at you at once and it’s hard to stay focused in a certain direction to follow through on goals. Maintaining a journal can help you keep your goals a priority so you can accomplish them.

Journaling helps reflect on you goals, the steps, and the outcomes. It helps put everything in perspective so you can manage and maintain an action plan to accomplish your goals. You can really get clarity on the blockages in the way of your goals.

  6. Writing about your goals helps uncover hidden fears and blockages that may be holding you back from achieving your goals.
  7. You might figure out that you might know what you want but are unsure how to get it.
  8. Writing about your goals can help you come up with an actions plan with steps on how to achieve those goals.
  9. Journaling your journey can help you later on when you are working on more goals or help others who are working on similar goals. Your experience can work as a guide to help yourself or others.

How to keep a journal:

  1. Decide what you’re going to use: you can use a notebook or online journal.
  2. Keep one separate journal for every major goal.
  3. Decide on a time that you’re going to set aside each day to write in your journal about your goal.
  4. Commit to writing in your journal every day.
  5. Don’t worry about grammar or punctuation.
  6. Don’t censor yourself: be yourself.
  7. Don’t get up from your writing session until you’ve given yourself an assignment for the next day and you’ve scheduled it in your appointment book. Hold yourself accountable.
  8. After each writing session reflect on your writing session. Reflect on your assignments and your progress. Reward yourself.
